How much influence do different yarns have on the fabric?

Different types of yarns have very different fabric forming properties and appearance styles. The basic characteristics of yarn are the important characteristics and expression of the yarn structure, which determine the appearance characteristics and intrinsic quality of the yarn, and also affect the properties of the fabric.

1. Cotton yarn

According to the spinning system, it is divided into carded yarn, combed yarn and waste spinning.

Carded Yarn

The fibers are not arranged neatly, the slivers are not uniform, the structure is soft, and there are more hairiness. The woven fabric is full in appearance, soft to the touch, comfortable to wear, and good in heat retention.

Combed yarn

The fibers are arranged neatly, the stem is even, the structure is tight, and the hairiness is small. The woven fabric has a tight structure, is smooth and smooth, has a smooth feel and good gloss.

Waste spinning

It is spun from scraps or linters, with thicker slivers and poor sliver uniformity. It is used to weave cotton blankets and other fabrics.

From the point of view of single yarn or strand weaving: cotton single yarn is soft and has a lot of hairiness. The fabric formed by weaving has a full appearance, soft feel and comfortable wearing. The cotton yarn structure is tight, the uniformity of the sliver is improved, the fabric structure is fine, the surface is flat, smooth, firm and wear-resistant.

2. Wool yarn

According to the spinning system, it is divided into combed yarn and carded yarn.

Combed wool yarn

The slivers are fine, smooth, uniform and dry, with good gloss and elasticity. Most worsted wool fabrics use strands. The fabrics are smooth, clean, fine, stiff, elastic, and have good body.

Carded yarn

The fibers are poorly straightened and fluffy. Woolen wool fabrics mostly use single yarns, which have a woolen surface after shrinking. The cloth body is thick and soft, with good warmth, and the woolen surface is flat without shading or half-shading.

3. Hemp yarn

Hemp has ramie, flax, jute, sisal and other varieties. The first two kinds of fabrics are used.

Ramie

According to the spinning system, there are long linen and short linen. Long linen can process finer yarns and is more used. Ramie yarn has high rigidity, uneven dryness, and a lot of hairiness. Most of them are made of single yarn, and the fabric is stiff and cool, with a unique style of bamboo stripes.

flax

According to the spinning system, there are points for long and short hemp spinning, and the difference between dry spinning and wet spinning. Common is long-wet spinning of jute. The yarn is thin, the yarn body is smooth and smooth, and it also has bamboo stripes. Mostly weaving with single yarn, the fabric performance is the same as ramie, but relatively smooth.

4.Filament

Silk or chemical filament, fine and uniform, no hairiness, good gloss. Filament fabric is soft, clean, smooth, and has good gloss.

5, blended yarn

The different fibers are mixed and spun to make them complement each other, thereby improving the performance of the yarn and fabric. Such as polyester-cotton blended yarn, cotton is soft and hygroscopic, polyester has high strength and good elasticity; polyester-cotton blended fabric is soft, hygroscopic, stiff and iron-free.

6, fancy yarn

Enrich the color of the fabric, enhance the three-dimensional feeling of the fabric, and change the surface state of the fabric. Such as colorful dot yarn to make the fabric colorful, increase the lively feeling; terry thread to enhance the three-dimensional sense of the fabric.

7.New type of yarn

Rich fabric performance and style. For example, the core and core yarns have different properties both inside and outside, and have the properties of two kinds of fibers. They can also be processed into rotten fabrics. Net silk yarn body is fluffy and soft, full-feeling, soft luster, strong fabric hair feel. Air-flow yarn is soft, abrasion-resistant, and has strong dyeing power. It is mostly used for thick fabrics, velvet fabrics and decorative cloths.
