Oxford cloth - the difference between nylon and polyester

Sep 29, 2019

Polyester fabrics and twill nylon fabrics are widely used in life, but most people do not know the difference between nylon and polyester.

Polyester fiber is a kind of synthetic fiber, which is the raw material of elastic chemical fiber cloth. It is not a kind of fabric itself. Polyester fiber is the earlier name. The scientific name is called polyester. The full name is polyethylene terephthalate. It is China. The trade name of polyester. Polyester fabric has high strength and elastic recovery, so it is anti-wrinkle, non-deformable and dimensionally stable during use.

Nylon is nylon, which can be called Nylon, polyamide fiber. The advantages are high strength, high wear resistance, high chemical resistance, good deformation resistance and aging resistance. The disadvantage is that the hand feels harder.

The difference between the two

1 sensory difference

The gloss of the fabric is relatively bright, and the hand feels smoother than nylon; the appearance of the fabric is darker than nylon, and the rougher is polyester fiber;

2 burning

The difference between nylon and polyester fiber is the most easy to burn! Polyester fiber is very hot black smoke, nylon is white smoke, and there is residue after burning, polyester fiber is crushed, nylon is plasticized!

Combed cotton is the name of a natural cotton fabric (a structure of cloth), which can be woven using polyester fiber and nylon raw materials. Combed cotton can be nylon or polyester, and nylon is twice as expensive as polyester. So choose a cost-effective or polyester fiber combed cotton.
