Oct 09, 2019

Recently, it was learned from the China National Textile and Apparel Council that the formulation of the 13th Five-Year Plan for the textile industry has been completed and will be announced immediately. According to the plan, the important task of the “13th Five-Year Plan” of the textile industry is “manipulating the total amount and improving the quality”. The specific target is that during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, the industrial added value of textile enterprises above designated size will grow at an average annual rate of 6.5%, and the average profit rate will increase from the end of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”. In 2020, the income from the main business of enterprises above designated size will grow at an average annual rate of 6.1%; the consumption of textile fiber for industrial use will grow at an average annual rate of 8.4%. Textile workwear exports accounted for a substantial share of the global market share.

In addition, in order to implement the spirit of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Several Opinions on Creating a Good Market Environment for the Special Action of the "Three Products" of the Consumer Goods Industry", the Federation has added the relevant contents of the "Three Products" to the "13th Five-Year Plan" of the textile industry.

“Three products” means increasing varieties, improving quality and creating brands.

The Federation pointed out that the main contents of the “increasing varieties” of the textile industry include: improving the level of creative design, increasing the supply of medium and high-end consumer goods, progressing smart and healthy consumer goods, and developing national characteristics of consumer goods.

The main contents of “Quality Improvement” include: international benchmarking, strengthening quality and precision management, promoting quality inspection and certification, and guaranteeing the supply of medicines and high-quality raw materials.

The main contents of “Creating Brand” include: improving brand competitiveness, nurture famous brands, perfecting brand service system, and promoting brand internationalization.

According to the planning requirements, by 2020, the brand feeding and management system will effectively run more than 200 enterprises. This goal is mainly achieved by workwear and home textile companies.

Yang Zhaohua, director of the Brand Work Office of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, said that in the course of the past few decades, the workwear and home textile consumption sectors have achieved a high degree of marketization, but from the stage of the entire industry progress, the brand is still One of the biggest shortcomings at the moment.

The specific performance is that China lacks a large international brand, and in the segmented consumer sector, there is a lack of brands with a very high market share, and the number of brands is also small. In addition, the biggest problem is that the product homogenization of the brand is very serious.

Yang Zhaohua believes that there are many enterprises in the field of workwear and home textiles with potential, especially some foundry companies. The quality of these companies' products is very good and the delivery time is very stable. Combined with the current market environment, these excellent foundry companies have the potential to become a brand enterprise. They are likely to grow and develop during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.

Guoming Junan analyst Lu Ming believes that successful apparel brands can grasp a large number of terminal consumption, and can feed back their own growth by dispatching supply chain resources and bargaining through shopping malls and other channels.
